Location searches

When you search for a city or ZIP code, the text is sent to a public geocoding service so the page can find coordinates. A city search goes to Open-Meteo. A five-digit U.S. ZIP code search goes to Zippopotam. The forecast request then goes to Open-Meteo with those coordinates.

Saved location

After a forecast loads, the site stores the place name and coordinates in localStorage on your device under the key proposWeatherLocation. The next visit reuses that place. You can clear it in your browser settings. The site does not create an account for you.

Search fields

Text typed into the search box stays in the browser until you submit it. The site does not keep a separate copy of every keystroke.

Server logs

This is a static website. The host that serves the files may keep ordinary request logs, such as browser type and the page address requested. Propos Weather Desk does not run its own visitor database.

External links

Forecast data is requested from Open-Meteo. Those requests are subject to that service's own practices. This site does not send a private API key.
